CP Group, a prominent commercial real estate and management corporation, with an expansive Atlanta portfolio, unveiled plans today to transform the towering 1.2-million-square-foot 1970s property into an impressive pacesetter in dining, retail, entertainment, and content creation, aptly named “The Center.”

This development follows CNN’s relocation from the edifice, ending a 40-year downtown tenure, coinciding with the removal of its brand marks, as offices relocate to midtown.

With Atlanta’s participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup matches barely two years away, CP Group is dedicating its focus to reviving the ground-floor level of the complex, inclusive of the Omni Atlanta Hotel. The mission: attracting retailers and groundbreaking tenants seeking a notable, centrally situated property that’s been off the leasing market for four decades.

Today’s announcement reveals that Coleman Weatherholtz of Healey Weatherholtz Properties, The Center’s retail leasing agent, is already coordinating some fresh retail concepts to modernize this historic building. CBRE has been selected to oversee the office aspect of leasing.
