The Warriors have hit their stride in the NRL with a commanding 42-12 victory over the North Queensland Cowboys, securing their third consecutive win and building considerable momentum in the competition.

Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad and Rocco Berry shone with impressive performances, each scoring two tries in the seven-try showcase in Townsville. This dominant display brought an end to the Cowboys’ three-game winning streak, showcasing the Warriors’ strength even in the typically challenging territory of North Queensland.

Facing opponents who had players fatigued from the midweek State of Origin match, the Warriors capitalized on their refreshed squad, having benefited from a recent bye and the return of key players from injury.

Within the first 20 minutes, the Warriors set the tone by crossing the try line three times, with Nicoll-Klokstad leading the charge with an exceptional opener. His flair was on full display in the final try, where an acrobatic effort from winger Dallin Watene-Zelezniak kept the ball in play for Nicoll-Klokstad to touch down.

Praising his team’s performance, Warriors coach Andrew Webster commended their confidence, discipline, and ruthless efficiency early in the game. He emphasized the strategic execution that led to their success against the Cowboys.

In contrast, Cowboys coach Todd Payten, a former Warriors head coach, acknowledged his team’s slow start and lack of energy, attributing their struggles to conceding numerous opportunities to the Warriors within their own territory.

The Warriors now climb up to 10th place in the standings, overtaking the Cowboys, as they gear up to face the formidable Melbourne Storm in their upcoming home fixture, looking to maintain their winning streak and solidify their position in the NRL rankings.
