In 2022, the New Zealand Warriors experienced their lowest point as they managed to secure only six wins out of 24 games, ending the season in an embarrassing home loss to the Titans and a second-to-last place finish. However, the following year proved to be a major turning point as they came close to making their first grand final appearance since 2011, ultimately losing 42-12 to the Broncos in the preliminary final. This remarkable turnaround on the field has had significant implications for the club’s financial standing, with CEO Cameron George stating that the Warriors are currently in their strongest commercial position in history as they prepare to embark on their 30th season in the NRL.

Off the field, the Warriors have experienced unprecedented growth in their commercial ventures. Hospitality options, which can accommodate around 1000 fans per game day, have already sold out for all 10 home games at Go Media Stadium. Additionally, all corporate suites and booths in the West Stand, accommodating an additional 1000 spectators per game, have been snapped up. Furthermore, membership packages have been purchased at levels never seen before, and match tickets, which have only recently been made available, are also selling well.

The Warriors have also experienced a significant surge in sponsorship, which can be attributed to their improved performances and the positive response from the fans. The club’s round one match against the Cronulla Sharks on March 8 is already more than half sold, with the Warriors aiming to open the season with a capacity home crowd following on from six home game sellouts last year.

Overall, the Warriors’ on-field success has had a profound impact on their commercial growth and overall financial stability. The club’s improved on-field performances have captivated the country and generated immense enthusiasm for their game day experiences, leading to increased ticket sales, booming hospitality sales, and heightened sponsorship interest. With the 2024 season fast approaching, the Warriors are poised for another exciting year both on and off the field.
