Daleene became a part of the Give Where You Live board more than a decade ago. Throughout her tenure, she has taken on various roles such as Director and Treasurer, and currently holds the position of Chairperson for the foundation.
Being only the second woman to ever hold the prestigious position of Chairperson in the Foundation’s long history, Daleene now steers the organization during a momentous period as they commemorate their 70th anniversary.
The primary objective behind the establishment of the Give Where You Live foundation was to foster a more equitable community. Through collaborative efforts with the community, the foundation aims to facilitate the prosperity of all individuals and areas.
The foundation remains unwavering in its dedication to channel all available energy and resources towards instigating positive transformations within the community. In addition to providing grant funding, they actively engage in a spectrum of initiatives, actions, and supportive measures.
Daleene epitomizes the numerous community champions who play pivotal roles within the Foundation. Whether it’s through workplace contributions, regular donations, corporate alliances, or voluntary service, these individuals collectively drive the Foundation’s mission forward.
Among the notable initiatives is the Dulux Community Bay at GMHBA Stadium, a designated seating section that offers local heroes like Daleene an opportunity to soak in the atmosphere of a Geelong Cats home game.
For every home game, the Cats allocate 110 tickets specifically for honoring the invaluable contributions of these local legends.
Daleene’s exceptional efforts will be acknowledged during the round 17 clash between the Cats and Hawthorn, where she will be commemorated as the Dulux Community Hero. The recognition will entail a prominent feature on the big screen and an interview on match day, shining a light on her remarkable contributions to the community.
