After bringing several first-party titles to PlayStation and Switch last year, Xbox has made a significant step with its first multiplatform venture for 2025. Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios have officially announced that Forza Horizon 5 will soon be hitting the PlayStation platform this spring.
The anticipated PS5 version is being developed by Panic Button, a studio renowned for its impressive portfolio which includes titles such as Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, Forza Horizon 4, and Apex Legends. Notably, this version will feature cross-play capabilities, enabling racers on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC to seamlessly join forces in exploring the exhilarating Horizon Festival together.
PlayStation players can look forward to accessing every bit of content currently available in the Xbox and PC iterations of Forza Horizon 5. This includes an astounding selection of nearly 900 cars, 40 themed updates, and two comprehensive expansions, all set to be available at launch. Fans will also find all paid expansions, including the popular Hot Wheels pack from 2022, ready to purchase in the PlayStation Store.
Coinciding with the release of the PS5 version, a fresh update titled Horizon Worlds will be made available across all platforms. This new content will invite players to “explore a curated collection of some of the community’s favorite previously released Evolving Worlds, along with some exciting surprises,” as detailed in the official blog post on the Forza website.
Forza Horizon 5, while the latest entry in the Forza Horizon series, isn’t the newest Forza title overall. It joins the ranks of other in-house Xbox releases that have made their way to PlayStation 5, following the likes of Sea of Thieves and Hi-Fi Rush last year. It also holds a spot among GameSpot’s recommendations for the best racing games currently available.
Set to arrive in spring, the PS5 port of Forza Horizon 5 is already generating buzz, and eager players can add it to their wishlist on the PlayStation Store starting today.
