As Bill Gates ages, he finds himself increasingly astonished by the twists and turns the world presents.

Consider the landscape of billionaires. The tech sector now has an influx of high-profile figures, many of whom lean distinctly to the right politically.

“I always viewed Silicon Valley as leaning left of center,” Gates remarked. “It’s a surprise to see such a notable right-of-center faction emerging.”

Then there’s the rapid evolution of technology since he founded Microsoft, which rose to become one of the globe’s most valuable enterprises.

“Remarkable advancements resulted from the exchange of information on the internet,” he noted. That much he expected. Yet with the rise of social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter, “we’ve encountered issues that I, frankly, did not foresee.”

The surge in political polarization fueled by technology? “I didn’t see that coming,” he admitted. Technology weaponized against the public good? “I didn’t predict that either,” he acknowledged.
